Hacked WordPress Site, Rebuilt Secure
Diagnosed a compromised WordPress install, recovered its content and replaced it with a fast, secure static site on Vercel.
Impact
493 injected spam posts and hidden casino links identified; the site was rebuilt with no CMS left to attack.
The challenge
artikunocommerce.com was down, and it was hacked. Two problems were being treated as one: casino spam injected into the site, and a PHP error crashing every page. Pointing DNS elsewhere would not have fixed either.
What we did
- Forensics on the old site: 493 spam posts injected over four weeks, plus hidden casino links written into the homepage
- Traced the outage to a fatal error in an outdated Elementor/AIOSEO stack, and showed Cloudflare was not the cause
- Recovered all real content and the logo, re-traced as an SVG
- Rebuilt the site as static HTML with one serverless function for the enquiry form (email via Resend)
- Migrated DNS and added security headers and redirects on Vercel
